Here are some priorities I would like to focus on for the next four years if re-elected.

DEVELOP OSCARSON PARK

During my time on the Board, we have developed several designs for the Oscarson Park area. I believe we can offer to the residents a more complete idea for the park, gain their input, and then move forward in designing the area to be one of multi-uses that might benefit several recreational activities.

COMPLETE MILLPOND PARK

We are currently working to get the parking lot installed and electrical services provided to the area. The contractors are starting their work the first week in October. Long term, our intent is to properly grass the hillsides.

IMPROVE PORTER'S PARK BASEBALL FIELD

Just like we did at Sager’s Park, the ball field at Porter’s Park is in need of improvement and should be developed for several levels of play. Better attention needs to be paid the field dragging, grass mowing, and weed abatement. If elected, I would like to work with the Board to have this made a priority for staff.

EVALUATE THE FUTURE OF THE OUTDOOR POOL

As many of you know, our nearly 50-year-old Outdoor Pool has experienced ongoing maintenance issues over the years. While we've worked hard to keep it running, the reality is that the pool still requires major repairs — and those repairs are becoming more and more expensive.

I believe it’s time for us, as a community, to take a thoughtful look at how we can continue to offer swimming opportunities for Stansbury residents in a way that’s both sustainable and financially responsible.

IMPROVE THE MAINTENANCE OF STANSBURY LAKE

Ongoing maintenance of the Lake is critical to its physical well-being as well as for the ability of people to recreate in the Lake. Proper maintenance includes mowing the phragmites and other lake weeds and spraying weeds at appropriate times of the year. While we have improved our Lake Maintenance, to truly make headway, I believe Stansbury needs to plan for the purchase of a second lake mower. This would allow us to have a mower dedicated to both halves of the Lake and provide a backup if one of the mowers fails.
